Here are a few ways to get official court docket copies that may be effective:
- Obtain the docket number. Tracking down a court docket with this basic number will be much easier.
- Visit the court’s clerk’s office. A court clerk may be able to provide a court docket to you in some cases.
- Check the National Archives database.
- Contact an attorney that was involved in the case.
How to find out the outcome of a court case? Use an online system.
- Click on a link to the court. You will then have to provide sufficient information to perform a search.
- For example, to search the Cook County, Illinois Docket Search, you will need the court division (civil, chancery, domestic relations, etc.) and the case number.
- A list of results will show up. You should click on the case that is relevant.
How do you access court records? There are several ways to access a court file:
- visit the court registry where the matter was heard;
- write or fax a letter to the court registry where the matter was heard, (requests for court documents cannot be emailed); Find a local court registry
- view and download documents online through Court Services Online (only certain documents can be viewed or downloaded). A fee may apply.

On the web portal you will find: appellate court case information (Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth); criminal Common Pleas court case information; magisterial district court case information including: civil cases; criminal cases; traffic cases
How to obtain court records and police reports?
- Login to the Police Public Record Request portal at: https://phxpublicsafety.dynamics365portals.us/
- Click on your name in the upper right corner.
- Select ‘My Police Service Requests’ from the drop down menu.
- Click on the down arrow at the end of the Service Request and select ‘Download’
