What is multiboxing? It seems a few people here do not understand what is multiboxing. Multiboxing itself simply consist of running the game client multiple times to connect on multiple characters at once. There’s nothing wrong about that, as long as he issue commands to each clients separately / manually.
Is multi-boxing and key cloning allowed? Multi-boxing is allowed (customer support forum has given that answer clearly over the years) as long as there is a player at the keyboard. Keycloning, when that means clicking “1” is sent to multiple WOW clients, is fine. Botting, when a program sends “1” to multiple WOW clients without any need for player interaction is not.

Software that can be used is, and afaik that applies to Classic as well. 3rd party software that copies key presses are being banned as a whole for both wow games. Multiboxing isn’t banned but the easiest method of doing so (key replication software) is in both Retail and Classic.

Should Bliz ban multi-boxing? Was a bit of a pain but not terribly unwieldy. I’m glad Bliz is not outright banning multi-boxing, as inherently there’s nothing wrong with it. The problem stems from the botters who stand still all day spamming and looting.
